Ruby’s story………………

Good Morning Friends, I’m standing guard out here in the garden because there were some strange goings on in the garden last night. All evening I had an unsettled feeling, I was up and down and up and down all night. Dad couldn’t move because he had just come back from a game of golf and had seized up, so mum was up and down letting me in and out all the time, she’s never had so much exercise. She’s normally sitting on the sofa, watching a soap on tv with her snout stuck in a glass of sauvignon, but not tonight. Honestly its a good job someone in our family has their wits about them, because I’ll tell you something friends, something wasn’t right, there was an intruder in the garden.

On the 15th time of going to check, I finally sensed something hiding under the ivy…… yes it took me 15 goes, don’t judge me, my super sonic sniffing skills kept leading me to bits of bread dropped by the birds or bits of cat poop, when I did eventually find the intruder I had to flush him out, so I frantically started pulling the ivy apart, which brought mum running out of the house again. But this time she wasn’t happy with the mess I’d made and she made me go back inside the house again.

But I wouldn’t give up, I’m the dog of the house after all, I had to protect my family, so I sat at the door barking and gruffing until mum got up one last time and let me out….. and there he was friends, standing there, right in front of me….. the intruder !!

So what do I do…. I’ll tell you what friends, I run right back inside, I’m not tackling him, mum can deal with that one……… he looks scary…..

So that’s why I’m out here this morning friends guarding, I’m not letting Mrs Tiggywinkle back in here……….
