Good Morning Friends, this is me in the garden yesterday watching dad up his ladders cutting the ivy back. I’m watching very carefully because he doesn’t look too steady up there.
Dad loves getting his ladders out, but he doesn’t care he just throws them up and up he goes….no Health and Safety or risk assessments going on here, one day mum even caught him going up there to clean the windows in his slippers.
Mum laughs at dad all the time because when he does jobs around the house he always takes it to the extreme. Extreme sweeping where he has broken brooms and ended up with blistered, bleeding hands he’s swept so vigorously. Extreme ironing where he’s rattle through a huge pile of ironing in no time at all and ended up stripped to the waist and dripping with sweat, looking a bit Rambo with an ironing board. And now extreme ladder climbing, where you rest your ladder on any uneven surface, wear in appropriate footwear and go up in any weather condition. Honestly my dad really is the king of extreme housework.
So friends you can see why I have a slightly worried look on my face, mum’s at work, there’s just me and dad here and he’s currently on the top rung of the ladder in a pair of flip flops trying to reach for a strand of ivy that is well out of his grasp………..Bear Grylls eat your heart out………. my dad the extreme machine.
