Spoilt Moi !

Ruby’s story…………..

Sorry about the picture friends, it is nothing to do with me. No mum thought that it would be hilarious to show a picture of me wearing diamonds and a tiara, don’t worry they’re not real, its a new app she’s got for her phone. But she thought that it would be funny because she always says that I’m spoilt.

Anyway, can I just confirm, I am not spoilt. It’s not my fault that they gave me my own chair and a cushion that says “Reserved for Ruby”, why? when I still like to stretch out on the sofa. It’s not my fault that I dictate what time everyone gets up and goes to bed, and more importantly meal times, well they can’t be trusted to stick to the clock.

It’s not my fault that I’m hand fed carrots on demand and get to share a piece of cheese with mum (but only when dad’s not around).

It’s not my fault that I refuse to get into my extra large dog bed on a night unless my cushions are plumped up, well I don’t want to get wrinkles, who would.

It’s not my fault that mum and dad only go on dog friendly holidays now and only eat and drink in dog friendly pubs, well why should I get left behind.

And finally, friends, its not my fault that I’ve got my own Instagram, Facebook and Twitter account, and that you are reading my very only blog right now.

No, none of these things are my fault, I’m just a little old Labrador doing what little old Labradors do……………….

Mum’s story………….

Do you like the picture, I think it suits Ruby down to the ground, because do you know what, she is so spoilt, I know it’s probably my fault, but she does take advantage whenever she can.

We set a chair aside in the corner for her and put a cushion on saying “Reserved for Ruby”, so everyone would know that it was her chair and wouldn’t sit there, after all I didn’t want her to have to sit on the floor. The trouble is she refuses to sit in it and ends up lounging on the sofa and I usually end up in the chair, but I don’t mind, as long as she comfortable.

Lie-in’s and late nights are now a thing of the past. We are now dictated by what time Ruby needs to go out on a morning and last thing at night, well, you know what its like when your bursting for the loo, I don’t want her to suffer. Bless her, she also know’s exactly what time her dinnertime is, she can be flat out asleep, but as soon at 4.25pm comes, she’s wide awake and telling us its her teatime, she really is very clever.

I like to give her healthy treats as well, after all she’s a growing girl and a couple of carrots a day don’t hurt. I sometimes sneak her a tiny corner of cheese as well (but only when the other half’s not around, he’s so mean to her), a little bit of cheese every so often won’t hurt her.

We bought her a lovely big dog bed so she could stretch out in it, well I didn’t want her curled up uncomfortable. We lined it with a couple of cushions, a sheepskin rug, a throw and her baby blanket, and I always plump it up before she gets in on a night, well no one wants to get into an unmade bed, do they.

We used to enjoy going on foreign holidays, but since we’ve had Ruby they’re a thing of a past. Our passports are expired and we won’t got anywhere, which isn’t Ruby friendly. Leaving her in kennels is just not an option. Eating and drinking is now only done in dog friendly pubs, well we might as well mix with like minded people, and anyway Ruby, likes going to the pub, she enjoys it.

And finally, Ruby has got her own Instagram, Facebook and Twitter account and of course this blog that you’r reading now…….. but why not, I think that she’s gorgeous and why wouldn’t everyone else.

So she is spoilt, and I’ll hold my hands up, it’s totally my fault, I’m just a proud mum, doing what proud mum’s do……….
