Lakeside, Bassenthwaite

We have stayed in the dog friendly cottage at Lakeside Bassenthwaite, on two visits to the Lake District and both have been lovely. The cottage itself is set in the garden adjacent to the hotel. It has its own parking space and the garden is fully enclosed.

The cottage itself is open plan and has everything that you need, with the living room, kitchen and bathroom downstairs, and the bedroom on a mezzanine level above, perfect for keeping an eye on sleeping pooches who may wake up in the night bursting for the loo. Even if a night time toilet break is needed, the garden is fully enclosed and backs on to fields, so there is no distraction for the pooches and no neighbours to be disturbed.

A short walk from the property is Bassenthwaite Lake, its not the easiest to access for a walk, but there is an array of public footpaths very close by, which offer lovely walks and views of the lake. Also, after crossing the main road which is about 100 metres from the property there is the fabulous walk around Sale Fell, which really is a must.

All in all, this is a perfect place to stay for dog owners visiting the Lake District, you would be pushed to find better dog friendly accommodation.
