Clam Cottage, Amroth

Since Ruby has been with us, we made the decision that we were not going to ever leave her in a kennel, so holidays for us would be in the UK and and would be dog friendly accommodation. Well, that is exactly what Clam Cottage is, its in Pembrokeshire and and it’s very dog friendly……. but it is so much more than this.

Clam Cottage is in the beautiful dog friendly village of Amroth which is either the start or the end of the Pembrokeshire Way (whichever way you choose to walk). The start (or finish) of the Pembrokeshire Way is literally over the road from the cottage, so it’s in a perfect location.

The cottage is set in an enviable position overlooking Amroth, and is set within the grounds of the owners property. There is parking at the front of the cottage for two cars, and a five bar gate across the drive gives the perfect safe surroundings for the pooches.

When we got there we had driven nearly 6 hours from Yorkshire, so upon arrival the first thing that met us, apart from Malcolm, the perfect host, was a big, full water bowl for Ruby, and she glugged it all.

To say that this cottage is dog friendly is an understatement, not only do you get the dog bowl on arrival, you also get a tennis ball, poop bags and dog treats for the dog and for the humans you get a lovely vase of flowers, chocolates and a bottle of wine (for mum). The accommodation itself, whilst being dog friendly, is also 5*, the cottage is immaculate with absolutely everything that you need, and with its cool contemporary style, that takes in the views around it, you really do feel that you are staying in luxury.

The cottage has a garden to the rear which is fully enclosed so it’s totally dog friendly, and is accessed from a small set of steps to the side of the cottage.

The cottage is set a few minutes walk from the beach and the host of dog friendly pubs, bars and shops that Amroth has to offer.

This is the easiest recommendation to make, it you want a dog friendly holiday, but still crave 5* luxury, this place is for you. But please note that it does get booked up years in advance so make sure you book now.
